Plan with current, personal guidance
The United States is a diverse destination known for its iconic cities, famous landmarks, entertainment, shopping, national parks, and wide range of cultural experiences. Ghanaian passport holders are not eligible for visa-free entry and must obtain a US visitor visa, usually a B-1/B-2 visa, before travelling for tourism, family visits or short business trips. Applicants generally need to complete the DS-160 application form, pay the required fee and attend an interview at the US Embassy. They may be asked to provide evidence of sufficient funds, travel plans, accommodation and strong ties to Ghana, such as employment, business, family or property. A visa does not guarantee entry; the final decision and permitted length of stay are determined by US border officials upon arrival. Travellers should apply well in advance and avoid purchasing non-refundable tickets until their visa has been issued. Popular destinations include New York City, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, Orlando and the country’s many national parks.
Requirements and decisions remain subject to the relevant government authority.
